Survival exercises help students develop skills that are going to help them later in life in every day life.
But should a surviving exercise be implemented in schools?
Firstly, students will be show different living conditions. If students are used to having everything they possibly need, this exercise will show them life from a different perspective for a few days. They will have an insight on how often people make their own living. In this way they will have to figure out what needs to be done to survive by themselves. Even though it is a short period of time to comprehend the deeper meaning of the situation, students will still have an unforgettable experience.
Secondly, students will develop their team working skills. The survival exercise teaches students that they have to collaborate in order to make it through those few days. For example, students can team up and work together to provide food and other necessities for themselves. In this way students will acquire more skills that will help them with their teamwork.
To conclude, the survival exercise will help students to have a new insight into other living conditions and will acquire team work skills. I believe that surviving exercise should be implemented in schools and the attending to it is an important life learning experience for students.
