One of the important functions of communication is that of manipulating, one observes a real specialization of the influence action in the media. Due to its complex structure and specific language, which combines the power of the word with the actor's strengths, mass-media has the most persuasive type of manipulation.
Firstly, when uploading a post on the Internet, the line that separates the pragmatic from the affective truth can be incredibly difficult to analyze. When a person is sharing news, it is as if they are distributing a song they like. People who see the post can appreciate and distribute it through endless feeds. The likelihood of misinformation increases as it is packaged more beautifully or distributed by trusted friends or people. People receive the information directly, without having time to verify what is true or not. At the same time, they themselves provide, through the activity they have on social networks, the information needed to discover their preferences, fears, degree of readiness, belonging to an ethnic or social group. Here, there is a need for expression, which often blinds people to what they would actually post.
Secondly, when it comes to misinforming a kid and misinforming an adult, the differences are not great. Children are fooled by the things that are tricked by adults. ” It is not about age, but about access to information and critical thinking. A 30-year-old can be fooled by a news story that was tricked by someone 15 years younger. Also, if an adult believes “fake news”, a child may realize that it is not true; it depends only on the level of information.
However, there are people who never distribute fake news, who do not try to manipulate and who are very attentive to their online posts.
In conclusion, influencing an audience is practically informing it correctly or incorrectly. So, we have to be very careful about what we post on the Internet.
