The online world has been growing throughout the years and nowadays it offers people the right  to post whatever they want, with very little filtration. The increasing importance of social media raises questions about the liability for the published content.
On the one hand, people should take responsibility for what they post online because it doesn't affect only themselves, but everyone on that platform. Many things these days are getting done anonymously, or under fake names on reliable sites. This leads to crowd's manipulation, as every individual can change, re-write or lie on the internet. The big  impact things online have nowadays is scary. The fact that it is this easy to access some information, should raise some questions regarding it's ..their.........liablility.
Besides the possible lies, many people post a lot of many things on the internet without being aware of the fact that their posts don't get deleted automatically. Some of them may be disturbing for a certain group of people and affect the one's posting future. For example, there are a lot of racist jokes related to the african-american community posted online everyday. Many of them can be found on kids' profiles, as they are the easiest influentiable target. They don't usually understand that   there are consequences to what they do and might be surprised 20 years later when they won't will not get a job because of proved racism. These are some arguments...... that support taking responsibility for posting online.
On the other hand, many big platforms have a contribution to the problems regarding the posts they host. Managers should impose restrictions for the public and also for the company's staff. There should be an age filter for the public, because kids
children can believe anything they see, being sure the internet is a reliable source. Also companies need responsible staff to filter posts, read, correct, delete and report them. The people behind big online platforms should do their part in making the internet a better place, as a lot of many people forget to take responsibility for their comments or posts. In spite of therm them  being free for users, big apps and sites make a lot of profit from selling personal data and creating targeted adds and that money can be used for hiring people to filter posts, so they help their community.
All things considered, even though companies have the resources to help clean up their platform, people should contribute as well, both for the site and for their personal development.
