Literary analysis has been a subject in every school exams for more than 20 years now and although it is one of the easiest parts of an assessment there have been countless debates whether this should or should not be part of the Romanian exam. But why is literary analysis part of today’s exams? Some people think it is useful, while others say it is absolutely unnecessary to learn these types of things topics in school.
On one hand, literary essays tend to help teenagers structure their composition better. By doing so many literary analyses, children learn how to put their thoughts into a certain and or logical order and how to make a better structured essay. On top of that, literary analysis also helps with  way of expressing expressing an idea in logical ways, thus being properly understood by the others. In addition to this, making a literary comment on a certain topic makes children read at least half of the book, thus meaning that they are developing not only their writing, but also their reading skills which  helps them learn new words and enrich their vocabulary.
On the other hand, these exams are useful only for a couple of years after the students take the test and the information in not well-structured. After a little while, people forget almost everything they have studied because they will never use it again in the future. Moreover, the fact that literary testing supposes meansonly the study of some texts and then memorising some quotes and commentaries,it also means that after the exam, students won't remember anything. Not only that, but most of the essays children have to do are given to them by their teachers, meaning that the students don't do not actually learn to express themselves, but copy a model of a literary assignment made by other people. [s]That being said, it is not a fair way to judge a student’s knowledge on only one subject.[/s][off topic]
To conclude, the literary parts of exams are and will always be part of the educational system. We do not necessarily have to change them completely, but we can try to make them more educational and more useful for the students.
