When I was in 7th grade I went to a camp where I met a lot of amazing people, but also an unusual girl. I don't mean she was a weirdo, but she just have unusual habits, but I can't criticise her, in fact I admire her because she is very original, confident, secure and she doesn't care what other people think about her habits.
Firstly, she thinks very much in reincarnation. She isn't a hindu or a buddhism, but she thinks about everything that it will have a new life after death and it has another lifes before the one it has now. Sometimes she see an animal or an insect and she says she can feel inside of it the spirit of a dead human and that scares me a little bit. Also she can't hurt or kill an insect or an animal, even an annoying fly and she always argue with people who do that even is not her business and of course she is a vegetarian. She belives in strange superstitions like you're not allowed to take a shower on sunday(because of a faith), if you broke a mirror you will have 7 years of bad luck, if you stay in a circle bad spirits can't come to you and a lot more. Unfortunately she is an orphan since she was 6 years old and a period of time si lived on the streets and because of this she still have some bad habits from that hard moments. Actually, she is not a very unusual person, she just has different opinions and faiths than the others and that makes her different, but special.

Hey, I really enjoyed your post, it was pretty nice, if a bit heartbreaking. No child should ever live on the streets.
The only problem with it that I can see in terms of content is the ending, and by that I mean that saying that someone isn't unusual but is different is an oxymoron.
I get what you're going for, but "unusual" isn't an inherently bad way to describe someone, like say "odd" or "weird" or "abnormal", so the distinction you were trying to make doesn't have a purpose.
