Personal development covers activities that improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, build human capital and enhance the quality of life. Some people might even say that personal growth is a vital part of a person’s maturity, success and happiness. Having said this, is watching movies preferable to playing video games from the point of view of personal development?
Not necessarily.
On the one hand, movies in foreign languages can deepen that language. The more time one makes for one other language, the better so watching a foreign movie is a great way to increase their exposure to the language and culture alike. Irrespective of the language a person would like to know, there are numerous movies to choose from and this way one can gain familiarity with the native accent as well as vocabulary. One can argue saying that beginning learners will not understand anything the movie is trying to say, so it is a waste of time. However, it is not a waste of time, because movies can give someone in these early stages something else very important: passion, enthusiasm and excitement for the new language. If one chooses the right movie, after watching, they will most likely be left with a strong desire to learn the language so that they can meet the people who speak it and venture into their world.
Moreover, even developers of psychotherapy believe in the benefits of watching movies. They say that commenting on a film with friends and family has an enormous social and emotional value. Even more, watching movies helps with tranquility because it redirects attention.
On the other hand, more researchers are discovering the perks of video gaming. They claim that video games can help couples because the more one person invests in fun and friendship the better the relationship will be over time. Furthermore, it could even help one...'s.... eyesight. One researcher discovered that playing video games can improve the ability called contrast sensitivity function, meaning that someone can discern between changes in shades of gray against a colored backdrop, which is very beneficial while driving at night.

To conclude, even though watching movies can definitely elevate one’s language skills and also help lead a less stressful life, .....it....... doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the only good option. Video games can as well enhance the quality of life because they could save a relationship and one’s eyesight!!

nicely well-documented and developped
